How does CBT work in therapy?
CBT is a type of therapy that focuses on identifying and changing negative thoughts, behaviors, and emotions that are causing problems in a person's life. It involves working collaboratively with clients to develop new ways of thinking and behaving, which can help improve their mental health and quality of life.
What is DBT, and how does it work in therapy?

ACT is a type of therapy that focuses on helping clients to develop psychological flexibility. It involves accepting difficult thoughts and emotions, while also taking action towards meaningful goals and values. This can help clients to become more resilient in the face of life's challenges.

Unfortunately, I do not accept insurance at this time. However, we can provide you with a superbill that you can submit to your insurance company or employer for possible reimbursement. Please check with your provider for details on their policies regarding out-of-network providers.
What is your experience working with marginalized communities?
As a therapist, I have extensive experience working with individuals and communities who have historically faced marginalization, oppression, and systemic discrimination. I am committed to providing culturally responsive, trauma-informed care that is inclusive of diverse backgrounds, identities, and experiences.
How do you ensure that your practice is culturally responsive and inclusive?
I continually engage in ongoing education and training to increase my understanding of systemic oppression and the ways in which it impacts marginalized communities. I prioritize creating a safe and welcoming space where individuals can share their unique experiences and feel heard and validated.
What are some common challenges faced by marginalized communities in therapy?
Many individuals from marginalized communities may experience feelings of shame, distrust, or anxiety when seeking therapy due to past experiences of discrimination or mistreatment. As a therapist, I approach these individuals with sensitivity and compassion, and work to create a therapeutic environment that feels safe and empowering.
How do you prioritize and address issues of intersectionality in your practice?
I recognize that individuals may face multiple forms of marginalization and discrimination based on their intersecting identities (e.g., race, gender, sexual orientation, ability, etc.). I prioritize taking an intersectional approach to therapy, which means recognizing and addressing the unique ways in which these identities intersect and influence individuals' experiences.
What steps do you take to ensure that your practice is accessible to individuals from marginalized communities?
I strive to create a practice that is accessible to individuals from all backgrounds and socioeconomic levels. This includes offering reduced-fee or sliding-scale options for individuals with financial need, as well as providing online therapy sessions for individuals who may have barriers to accessing in-person therapy.
What is your cancellation policy?
I require at least 24 hours' notice for cancellations or rescheduling of appointments. If you cancel with less than 24 hours' notice or fail to show up for your scheduled appointment, you will be charged the full session fee.
